Award-winning winery with panoramic farmhouse
This young and well-established winery is situated in the splendid setting of the most prestigious UNESCO World Heritage hills of the Monferrato region, surrounded by magnificent vineyards where the Barbera grape reaches its highest expression in the appellation of excellence NIZZA DOCG. Established in 2011 by two brothers who have transformed the estate purchased many years earlier by their father, an expert oenologist, into a producer of great wines, the winery has already been recognised by the prestigious American magazine “Wine Enthusiast” as a producer of the best Barbera wines in the world.
.
In the centre of approximately seven hectares of land, cultivated mostly with vines in the appellations of Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Nizza DOCG and Moscato d'Asti, among others, and partly with Nocciola Piemonte IGP hazelnuts, the winery is complete with all the equipment required for making wine and ageing it in the barrique cellar.
The winery currently produces and sells between 20,000 and 25,000 bottles a year, which can be easily achieved, also with rented land.
The old, generously-sized house is in an elevated position dominating the estate. It has been renovated and is currently home to the owners, but it could easily be divided into accommodation for two or three families.
The house currently features a spacious dayroom for use as a lounge or for entertaining, characterised by a large fireplace and brick ceiling with adjoining bathroom, a large kitchen, a living room and a bedroom on the ground floor. Then there are a further six-seven spacious bedrooms, some with wooden ceilings, with four bathrooms and a covered terrace on the first floor.
The house is completed by another large cellar-storage room, a characteristic portico with a wood-burning oven and a porch with a hayloft used for storing tools and farm machinery.
